Call Outline
Aiming to advance research and foster innovations in cutting edge areas of Nanobiotechnology, DBT invites proposals to address various issues related to health, agriculture, food and environment through basic and applied Nano biotechnological research interventions. The priority areas include but not limited to:
Design and development of new therapeutics and targeted drug/si RNA delivery vehicles
Novel formulations for existing drugs to enhance their efficacy
Diagnostics for early diseases detection and imaging
Design and development of smart Nano system /devices for tissue & bone engineering, cosmeceutics and other medical applications
Nano enabled system for – efficient delivery of pesticides, fertilizers and nutrients in crops, enzymatic bioprocessing, textile engineering, food packaging and improvement of food quality
Diagnostics for detection of chemicals and pathogens in food and crops
Understanding the safety of nanomaterials/Nano systems in the backdrop of emerging regulations (Categories below I &II are not applicable)
The proposals of the following three categories would be considered and may be marked accordingly:
Use Inspired Discovery and Early Translational Science: The research objectives of the proposal should have clearly defined roadmap for scientific outcomes and for future application strategies.
Translational Research: Under this category the proposals should already have demonstrated proof of concept, requiring further application oriented translational studies and /or support for product development
Developing Critical Tools for Translational Research: The proposals should aim at developing innovative tools and process for preclinical research in the priority areas
Academia and Industrial R&D Units (in collaboration with academic partner) are encouraged to submit the proposals in DBT format through e-Promis under ÔÇ£Call for ProposalsÔÇØ in the area of Nanobiotechnology before 30th September, 2016.
