Department of Biotechnology Celebrates the Journey of Indian Women in science
Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India in Partnership with
India International Centre, New Delhi, organized a Photo Exhibition entitled "Celebrating Indian Women in
Science: An Incredible Journey". The aim was to remember, acknowledge and showcase the stories of great
Indian women scientists on International women’s day, who have contributed to the development of science
through their outstanding work.
This exhibition was inaugurated by the Secretary, DBT and President, IIC on March 7th at the India
International Centre. The Exhibition will remain open till 15th March, 2019. A panel discussion on the same topic
was held at the India International Centre on the same day. 40 women scientists from various fields of science have
been featured in the posters. The panel discussion and inauguration was well attended by women scientists from
universities, institutes, IIT Delhi, and Principals of Delhi colleges.
