COVID: Testing and Diagnostics

DBT City/Regional clusters for COVID-19 were
established in a Hub and Spoke model to scale-
up testing of COVID-19 samples in government
institutions across the country. '

20 City /Regional clusters have been established
–Bengaluru, Delhi/NCR, Hyderabad,
$iruvananthapuram, Chandigarh/Mohali,
Bhubaneshwar, Nagpur, Pune, Mumbai, Lucknow,
Chennai, Kolkata, North Eastern Region, J&K,
Ahmedabad, MP, Rajasthan, Banaras, Palampur
and Delhi city.

6 AIs of DBT i.e. ILS, THSTI, RGCB, NCCS,
inStem and CDFD are also actively involved to
augment India’s capacity for COVID-19 testing.

Over 100 institutions are at present doing the
sample testing and over 2,60,000 samples have
been tested till date.
